Preparing for Application - Back to Work

Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the letter of intent and application requirements; an overview of the proposal elements is provided below.  View the Request for Proposal & Application Materials section for access to the full RFP.  

1. Letter of Intent (LOI)
   1. A complete LOI is required for each application period (Fall, Winter, and Spring).
   2. All LOI materials must be submitted online by the corresponding LOI dates, as outlined in the Timeline section. 
   3. The LOI must be submitted via the COSI online application portal.
   4. Approval of LOI is required before the submission of a full application. Please do not wait until the deadline, and the COSI team will review and send notification as LOI’s are received.

2. Application

All grant applications submitted to the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative and the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) are public records and should not contain any confidential data. CDHE is subject to the Colorado Open Records Act and must release full applications when requested.

The application portal is now open. We are currently accepting letters of intent until Friday, February 12. 

Application portal:

• COSI has partnered with SurveyMonkey Apply to administer all of its applications.
• The submission process will require extra steps as each applicant will need to set up an account and organization. 

Reminders:

• Please plan on attending the application webinar for a walkthrough of the system. View the Application Support section for details.
• Please do not contact individual staff, instead please review the RFP and prepare your initial questions for the webinar.  The team is available to schedule a follow-up meeting if needed.
• The RFP provides an LOI and Application Preview to help prepare the application before submission.
• Applications that do not follow instructions will not be considered.
• Late submissions will not be accepted.

Please carefully review the application timeline as late submissions and incomplete applications will not be accepted. The COSI board will meet three times during the 2020-2021 academic year to review and vote on awards. 

County and institution of higher education applications will be accepted throughout the three application cycles and workforce applications will ONLY be reviewed in the Fall 2020 application period.
