The purpose of the stipends is to remove financial burdens for teacher and school counselor candidates so they can participate in deep clinical experiences under the direct supervision of a mentor prior to taking on licensure and the position. Read more.

Providing a variable living stipend. Become a Project Serve AmeriCorps volunteer to serve as a reading or math tutor in Colorado. Tutoring often can lead to being prepared as a licensed educator. For K-12  Educators, Principals and Special Service Providers working and living in Colorado established through HB22-1220 and expanded through HB23-1001. Priority will be given to applicants working in a rural district/school or in a content shortage area. Applicants will be eligible for up to $5,000 in loan forgiveness annually.  Read more.

This stipend is available to K-12 educators pursuing National Board Teacher Certification (NBCT) in rural Colorado school districts. In an effort to address teacher shortages in the state, the Colorado Department of Higher Education is responsible for leading the work to recruit and retain teachers in rural areas. National Board Certification is an opportunity to retain excellent in-service teachers by honoring the hard work that teachers do to become certified and act as leaders in their field. Read more.

NBCT Stipends: Selected members of a Colorado Rural National Board cohort can receive a $3,975 stiped as they receive support and mentorship from NBCT facilitators. The value of the stipend covers (a) enrolling with the National Board; (b) registering for each of the four components of the NB portfolio; and (c) participating in the Rural National Board Cohort.
