Department releases Healthy Minds and Hunger Free Campus Checklists in an effort to erase hunger and address mental health needs

DENVER – Feb. 24, 2021: The Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE), along with Gov. Jared Polis and partners from Young Invincibles, Hunger Free Colorado, the Colorado Department of Human Services and Metropolitan State University of Denver today released the Department's Hunger Free and Healthy Minds Campus Checklists to encourage the state's postsecondary intuitions of higher education to apply for Hunger Free and Healthy Minds campus designations. 
 

Twelve Colorado colleges and universities receive $1 million in emergency aid to students

DENVER – Oct. 21, 2020: Governor Jared Polis and the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) awarded $1 million of the $44 million Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund to 12 public institutions of higher education. The colleges and universities will use the funds to award emergency relief aid to students who have not yet been awarded funds from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund. 

New portal allows Colorado ASSET students to apply for state financial aid

DENVER – Oct. 1, 2020: The Colorado Department of Higher Education today announced a new online application that allows Colorado students that have historically not qualified for federal aid, to complete an application for state financial aid. The Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA) opens today and is available here.

Colorado Department of Higher Education unveils Colorado Collegiate Apprenticeship Program

DENVER – Sept. 30, 2020:  The Colorado Department of Higher Education has unveiled the Colorado Collegiate Apprentice Program, an innovative new learning model that empowers Coloradans with the hands-on career training to accelerate their education in specific fields. In partnership with the Colorado Community College system, the first learning track, launching this fall semester, is focused on careers in healthcare, with other industry programs to follow.
