Colorado Department of Higher Education unveils Colorado Collegiate Apprenticeship Program

DENVER – Sept. 30, 2020:  The Colorado Department of Higher Education has unveiled the Colorado Collegiate Apprentice Program, an innovative new learning model that empowers Coloradans with the hands-on career training to accelerate their education in specific fields. In partnership with the Colorado Community College system, the first learning track, launching this fall semester, is focused on careers in healthcare, with other industry programs to follow. 
 

Colorado Department of Higher Education launches four new statewide transfer agreements

DENVER – Sept. 18, 2020:  The Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) recently launched four new statewide transfer articulation agreements in computer science, dance, journalism and public health. The agreements,  approved by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CCHE) and developed by faculty at two- and four-year public colleges and universities across the state—enable students to earn an associate degree with "designation" in a specific discipline or professional field, and then transfer into a related bachelor's degree program.  

Participation in Colorado’s dual enrollment programs continue to grow and give students a head start on making a livable wage

DENVER – Sept. 17, 2020: Nearly 50,500 students took at least one dual enrollment course during the 2018-19 academic year, according to a report released today by the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) and Colorado Department of Education (CDE). This was an increase of nearly 4,700 students from 2017-18, or a 9.2% jump in dual enrollment participation overall. 
 

Gov. Polis Launches $32 Million RISE Education Fund

DENVER- Governor Jared Polis launched the $32.7 million Response, Innovation, and Student Equity Education (RISE) fund today to support high-needs school districts, charter schools, and public institutions of higher education in creating sustainable innovations to improve student learning, close equity gaps, and enhance operational efficiency for pre-K-12 through higher education.
