Colorado Student Relief Fund

Colorado Student Relief Fund

Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) has been designated by Governor Jared Polis as the educational entity to administer a $1 million portion of the $44 million Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund: The Colorado Student Relief Fund

Program Overview

The Colorado Student Relief Fund requires applicants to prioritize students who have not already received an award from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, who have an Expected Family Income within 250 percent of Pell eligibility, and who are facing challenges or financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Institutions can use the funds to make direct awards to students in the form of emergency aid during the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters.

This Colorado Student Relief Fund grant is a reimbursement grant. Institutions will be able to submit quarterly invoices for expended funds up to the maximum amount after awards are made to students. Funds awarded to students in the Fall 2020 semester prior to the execution of the grant agreement can be reimbursed as long as the institution has significant documentation that the award made prior to the grant execution follows the purpose and spirit of the Colorado Student Relief Fund.

The deadline for the Colorado Student Relief Fund Application was October 1, 2020. Grant materials are available here
